Ballroom Dance returns to Decatur! For those who are brand new to ballroom dancing or looking to touch up rusty dance skills, this is the class for you! Community attendance will show the Arts Council they should grow such offerings - so please come out and participate as we grow a social dance scene for all of us in Decatur, Forsyth and Mount Zion to enjoy! Open to ages 16+ June - 4 weeks of lessons with practice time - every Thursday in June at 7pm - Madden Arts Center Downtown Decatur - Second Floor Ballroom - sign up here: Registration is also up on the website for the July class! Beginner ballroom dance class with intermediate fancy-moves highlights for those who are brand new to ballroom dancing or looking to touch up rusty dance skills with proper technique and style. Come enjoy this fun social activity, make new friends and dance to good music. This low-impact physical activity can help all of us who've been socially isolated for too long get up, get off our screens and get active doing something really fun together! Focus will be on good lead and follow connection to make social ballroom dance easy and accessible to all. Dances covered will include Foxtrot, Waltz, Night Club Two Step, and Jitterbug/Single-Time Swing if time allows plus all the cool moves the class skill level can take! Are you physically active in any way that your coordination and skills could transfer over into ballroom easily? I want to talk to you if: You have a background in Martial Arts, You are a regular runner or bicycle enthusiast, You have a background in fitness or sports or any area that has taught you a high level of coordination and physical control, and you understand your center of gravity and how to use it.
