Job description Green Event Ninjas is recruiting a team of Recycling & Cleaning Ninjas to assist with the event clean-up and recycling initiatives for the Philadelphia Flower Show, located in FDR Park, Philadelphia, PA. Our goal is to help make the event as eco-friendly and enjoyable as possible by implementing green cleaning & recycling and composting initiatives on the grounds before, during, and after the 2022 event. WAGE: $15.50 /hr DATES: June 10th - June 19th, 2022 - Full Project May 31st - June 5th, 2022 - Event Only There are shifts available for the full duration of the project as well as shifts during the event only. RESPONSIBILITIES: SORTING SERVICES: Recycling Ninjas will spend a good majority of their shift hand-sorting the recycling and other waste streams to maximize the event’s total waste diversion from landfill. This task involves prolonged periods of standing, opening bags and sorting their contents, and lifting bags. All appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided (i.e. protective gloves, face masks, safety goggles, etc.). CLEANING: Cleaning Ninjas will spend the majority of their shift completing routine cleaning and servicing of outdoor public restrooms (men’s and women’s); although not limited to, responsibilities will generally include: Sweeping/mopping, sanitizing surfaces, emptying waste receptacles, replacing supplies as needed (toilet paper, hand towels etc.). Report any urgent maintenance needs and take any unserviceable bathrooms out-of-service. All cleaning supplies, and equipment, as well as appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), will be provided (i.e. protective gloves, face masks, safety goggles, etc.) CAUTION: Please note that this event takes place outdoors. It may be hot and/or it may rain. Ninjas are expected to dress for the weather (e.g. rain or shine, warm or cool). Water will be provided, in addition to scheduled breaks and lunch for longer shifts. Uniforms in the form of a cotton T-Shirt will be provided.
