NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!! DRMP's Surveying & Mapping/Geospatial Division is HIRING! We're looking for entry-level, Survey Field Technicians to join our Charlotte office. Stable work environment (no layoffs due to previous COVID/NCDOT situation) Training & Career Development We work with BOTH the NCDOT and SCDOT (that means more work opportunities!) Travel is REQUIRED for this position Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (10-hour shifts); Potential for Overtime *Entry-Level starts at $16/HR Primary Responsibilities include: -Load truck with the necessary equipment and supplies that are needed throughout the day. -Transport and set up the instruments/equipment and prepare the job site for the survey. -Clear brush and trees away from the survey line. -Hold the prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points. -Measure how far different points are from each other, using tape or electronic equipment; Help with the various pieces of survey equipment. -Have familiarity/working knowledge of survey equipment. -Operate the surveying equipment with the supervisor's oversight. Requirements: -High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. -Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. -Ability to travel -Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project. -Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines. (machete use) -Adequate knowledge of equipment and the ability to set up for various types of work. -Ability to hold and proficiently use a prism pole, rods, and other measuring devices. -Ability to lift the pieces of equipment required for a project.
