The Map Shop is a 30-year-old, family-run, e-commerce company. We opened in 1991 but we operate like a startup. We make decisions quickly, work hard, and have fun while doing it. We ship maps all over the world and our products help customers plan new adventures and connect to the memories of the places they love. We're growing our team and are looking for a talented team member to help in our order fulfillment and packing department. Primary duties include (but are definitely not limited to): - Printing orders from the previous day and pulling them from multiple locations - Assembling orders with multiple components using light tools - Trimming maps for finishing and packaging maps for shipments - Framing maps, laminating maps, and mounting maps - Printing shipping labels for orders - Making sure orders are staged and picked up by our carriers each day We will provide on-the-job training but candidates are expected to learn independently in a fast-paced environment. We have over 7,000 products and the early weeks on the job will be challenging. If you get discouraged easily, this job isn’t for you. The experience you’ll gain from this position will take your career to the next level. You’ll learn how a growing e-commerce company prints and fulfills a high number of orders. If you already had the position, in the last month you would have: - Worked with Matt to set a schedule on which raised relief maps need to be boxed each morning. Matt likes tattoos, you'll like Matt. - Worked with Mike in the finishing department to make sure we're getting out all the necessary laminated, mounted, and framed maps. Mike makes hip-hop beats, you'll like Mike. - Worked with AJ to package and label maps for shipment. AJ is a guitarist, you'll like AJ. - Helped brainstorm new product ideas with the team - Watched the process of coming up with a product idea, developing it, launching it, and watching the sales come in - Attended two employee’s birthdays (we normally cater lunch then do something else fun) - Joined everyone at team events (yeah, we hang out outside of work...gasp!) This will be a full-time hourly position starting with 40 hours per week. Hourly rate will start at $15/hour with a built-in raise after three months. Hours will be Monday through Friday 9-5:30 pm.
