J.C., Inc. is looking for a full-time Repair Technician that will provide outstanding service to our customers within the greater St. Louis, St. Charles, Illinois, Lincoln and Warren county areas. Job Description and Responsibilities: The Repair Technician will be expected to complete daily diagnostic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs to pneumatic nailers, electric power tools, and gas-powered construction equipment (i.e., air compressors, generators) in a timely manner. Minimum Requirements: • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, repair/maintenance of pneumatic nailers, electric power tools, and gas-powered construction equipment like air compressors and generators • The skills to clearly explain, to the customer’s satisfaction, the diagnosis and repair of tools/equipment in a professional manner to provide a positive experience • The ability to recognize and observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly • The ability to understand and follow instructions and promptly respond to direction • The drive to work with integrity, always upholding company values, while operating a profitable service business Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Mechanical repairs such as oil changes and routine preventative maintenance on various tools/equipment. • Diagnostic and troubleshooting of tools/equipment along with performing ultimate repair. Tools/Equipment to include but not limited to pneumatic nailers, electric power tools, and gas-powered construction equipment. • Accurate estimation of time and material required for repairs • Submission of all paperwork and invoices in a timely and accurate fashion with proper job numbers to the Accounting Department • Assistance in the overall appearance of the Shop in order to ensure safety and overall organization • Other duties as assigned Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift 100 pounds on an as needed basis • Standing, walking, turning, stooping kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously • Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety Qualifications Good attendance Motivated, team-player Must possess reading skills to utilize service manuals of equipment Ability to use a computer for parts inquiries and ordering Working mechanical knowledge including the use of tools and test equipment High school or equivalent and previous experience as a repair technician or completion of technical school program Legible writing skills and attention to detail Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Knowledge of construction industry materials and tools will be helpful Forklift experience a plus Class E Chauffeur’s License is a plus Welding and cutting torch experience preferred
