Kata School Cascadia's Kata Together! A 5-day Summer Program. Register here for the entire week! Register for the full week IN PERSON Kata Together! At Kaas Tailored's Tree House in Mukilteo Washington!This is the ticket to the 5-day Monday to Friday program. You are registering for all these events. Monday July 11 Noon- 3:30 PM and Tuesday July 12 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM The Improvement Kata Experience! We start at noon Monday with lunch together and then it's the Improvement Kata Experience, an interactive immersive experience with all the Starter Kata. This is a workshop for everyone, coaches and learners. At KataCon 8 in March, Gemma Jones and Julie Simmons offered a pilot of this workshop at 4 hours. Experienced coaches called it, "mind-blowing." We are taking 10 hours to really explore the Improvement Kata together with a hands-on participatory experience led by Gemma Jones. This workshop aims to build and calibrate your references for the Improvement Kata routines. Participants will take home a Starter Kata workbook, and a new or renewed understanding of how the kata work and work together to teach scientific thinking through practice. Wednesday July 13 9:00 AM - Noon Summer Camp Kata - our version of a Kata Geek Meet up Everyone is welcome to share and discuss their experiences with scientific thinking, learning and coaching. The program will be built through sign up led by Sylvain Landry and KSC. Register and you will be invited to the full program for Wednesday morning. What are you experimenting with? What questions do you want to explore? Do you have a book or resource to highlight? Wednesday morning is the time to share and learn together. NOTEWednesday July 13 afternoon activities are free and have a separate event ticket. A list of possible activities will be available. You will be contacted for your Wednesday afternoon outside activity choices. Thursday July 14 9 AM - 3:30 PM and Friday July 15 9:00 AM-NoonCoaching together! Mark Rosenthal and Tracy Defoe combine forces to bring you the opportunity to improve your kata coaching by working on your process analysis skills, and the micro and macro skills built into the Coaching Kata. We will coach each other and stretch our skills and our bank of deepening questions with a blend of Mark's coaching skills workshop and the Kata Dojo practice skills Tracy has learned through the Kata Coaching Dojo Masterclass. Lodging information: You are responsible for your own lodging. Check back for more info on lodging and car pooling. Other information: We are starting at noon on Monday for a gentle start, and we stop at noon on Friday so you can head home or start a vacation in the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday afternoon programs will be organized by the group, or you can have free time to explore the beautiful Mukilteo area and Whitby Island. Evenings on your own, or join a group dinner.
