Topic: Negotiation | Whether it's for a better pay or for a new opportunity, negotiating can be intimidating for some. Maybe you don't even know where to begin. But maybe you're wondering how you can prepare to feel confident during the negotiation and ensure the best possible outcomes? In this event, you will hear from a panel of Latinx and BIPOC leaders who have insights, tips, and advice on the art and skill of negotiation. In her role, she manages the professional talent solutions in the Denver, Boulder and Lakewood branches for the accounting, finance, and administrative practice groups. Tammy joined Robert Half in 2003 and has held various leadership roles within the company including Division Director and Director of Permanent Placement Services. She is dedicated to leading and developing her teams from the ground up while also helping local businesses grow by providing the talent they need to be successful. Tammy holds her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Metropolitan State and is backed by over 18 years in the accounting and finance industry. VERONICA ALVAREZ | Veronica Alvarez is a Senior Team Leader and Hiring Manager at Fidelity Investments. She started her career in finance at Morgan Stanley in the Global stock plan services department in Columbus, OH. In that department Veronica was exposed to different segments: Direct share programs, executive compensation, and 10b51 plans. She then become passionate about coaching and training other associates and decided to pursue a management role. Eventually she was promoted to a management position in the Wealth Management side of the business where she served as a branch service manager for one the largest branches in the San Francisco market. After moving to Denver, Veronica also worked at UBS in the Rockies Market as an admin manager for various Wealth Management branches across the Denver metro area. She grew up in Florida where she obtained both her MBA and bachelor’s degree from Florida’s international University in Miami (FIU). ARMANDO SOMOZA | Armando Somoza currently serves as VP, Learning Reinvention for The Reinvention Lab powered by Teach for America. His life’s work has been committed to the creative application of powerful story-telling and digital technologies as an agent of provocation, immersive learning experiences, community empowerment, cultural entrepreneurship, and social change. His experience in human-centered design, communications, digital strategy, and EdTech startup led him to establish a NYC based creative communications agency focused on client-based work with political campaigns, museums, and nonprofits creating narrative brand identities that center the voices and experiences of Black/Brown communities. He is also CEO & Co-Founder of CodeScty, a company that uses original hip hop and youth culture to teach computational thinking and coding concepts - like Schoolhouse Rock for Computer Science. Equity, community transformation, political advocacy, the creative arts, and education are at the core of his worldview and practice. CAROLYN "CJ" RENAUD | Carolyn ‘CJ’ Renaud is Director of Business Partnerships for CareerWise Colorado. CareerWise Colorado is the leader in Youth Registered Apprenticeship. CJ has managed to incorporate her passion for workforce development and education into an amazing career. CJ Renaud embodies the collaborative spirit and brings her past experiences from a career in law enforcement, K-12 education and Post-Secondary education into her current role. Renaud is building relationships with community leaders, business owners and organizations to open pathways of opportunity for all individuals aspiring to increase their knowledge and skills. She’s been championing collaborative efforts for 20+ years and has seen the value these connections create.
