Tenor, Andres Lasaga and The Rose Singers Live Experience Come and join Award winning Tenor Andres Lasaga, and Superior Rated Choir The Rose Singers for an amazing night of Music Making. Tenor Andrés Lasaga obtained his Bachelor of Music from New World School of the Arts’ vocal program and performed several roles in their annual scenes program and productions such as Ernesto from Donizetti’s Don Pasquale and Mengone from Haydn’s Lo speziale. He received his Master’s of Music degree at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music where he had the opportunity to perform two Stravinsky operas: Mavra (Hussar) and The Rake’s Progress (Tom Rakewell). Other roles include Britten’s The Turn of The Screw (The Prologue and Peter Quint), Lehar’s The Merry Widow (St. Brioche and Baron Popoff), Barber’s A Hand of Bridge (Bill), Massenet’s Cendrillon (Le Doyen de la Faculté), Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos (Scaramuccio), Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (Tamino and Monostatos), and Mozart’s Don Giovanni ( Don Ottavio) He collaborated with the Florida Grand Opera Chorus in their 2015-2016 production of Bellini’s Norma, 2019-2020 season of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, The Master Chorale of South Florida’s concert of Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and made his solo debut in the 2019-2020 New World Symphony season’s gala concert. Along with choir collaborations, Andrés had the honor of performing a recital at the Mirabell Palace in Salzburg, Austria in the summer of 2017 and performed a concert of various operas by American composer Anthony Davis in 2019. Aside of singing, he has composed several art songs and instrumental works and had the opportunity of premiering his work in the South Florida Community. The choral program at Coral Reef Senior High School, is a highly touted magnet program in Miami-Dade County, that has gained a substantial amount of credibility in the music community. Of the various prestigious choirs at the school, the “The Rose Singers” named in memory of the first director John Rose, is the top vocal ensemble. Shanpatrick Davis took over the program in 2015 and continues the rich choral tradition of the program. The choir has excelled by consistently gaining superior ratings on the District and State levels since 1997, as well as placing first in the Coral Gables Merrick Caroling Competition 15 out of the 17 years it was established. The Rose Singers performs various styles of music ranging from Classical to African American spirituals. The chorus program at Coral Reef High is unique having performed full productions of operas, musical, and large classical works. The choirs’ goal is to inspire their audience by providing a performance that is uplifting and memorable. Johanna is an actress, singer, and dancer from Pittsburgh, PA. Some of her favorite past credits include Into the Woods (Cinderella), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Rosa Bud), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Lysander). She was also nominated for a Jimmy Award in 2018 for her role as Cassie in A Chorus Line. When she is not performing, you can find her listening to The Weeknd and watching Peaky Blinders. After graduating from the University of Miami with a BFA in Musical Theatre, Johanna plans to move to New York City. She cannot wait to see where life takes her! Jamaican Musical Artist, Bunny Rose says time stops when he closes his eyes and sings. Mr. Rose sings in six languages, and plays numerous instruments. He is a composer, voice coach, music educator, and a photographer. Despite being orphaned at the age of seven, Bunny persevered, and eventually attended DeCarteret College in Mandeville, Manchester. At DeCarteret he was a model student, who excelled in all studies. Though he had the grades to excel in many professions, he chose Music. "Everything in the world is all right when I am singing," he shares. He said music chose him, as much as he chose it. Mr. Rose went on to pass the Grade 8 voice exam with distinction through Trinity College, England, after only 5 weeks of preparation. He has also won gold and bronze medals at the annual Jamaica Cultural Development Commission competitions. Mr. Rose has been singing professionally since the age of 22 to rave reviews. His goal is to build his career to such heights, as to be able to help others, as he has been helped throughout his life.
