Join us for an afternoon of music, food, and community! Get ready to jam for free at the 1st edition of our Miami Gardens Youth Music Festival, featuring the next generation of musicians from Miami Gardens and beyond. Performances by - Students of Young Musicians United, Achieve Miami, Guitars over Guns, and the Miami Music Project - Ensembles from six Miami Gardens schools - Youth bands and performers from across Miami-Dade County - Headliner and local musician Claudens Louis with the Ciel Experience! Co-hosting the day’s musical offerings are Wilkie Ferguson III and Arsimmer McCoy. Wilkie Ferguson III is a Broadway veteran, New World School of the Arts alumn, and founder of the Take On Me pop musical revue. Arsimmer McCoy is a writer, international poet, educator, creative programmer, and artist based in Miami Gardens. They’ll be introducing our musicians as well as our guest speakers. Guest Speakers- Dr. Steve Gallon, Vice-Chair and elected District 1 School Board Member for the Miami-Dade County Schools and - Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien Come for the music, but stay for- Food trucks - Tents and activations from local partners - Free books - and more! Presented by The Miami Gardens Music Alliance, Music Access Miami at The Miami Foundation, and Councilwoman Linda Julien.
