Press release from the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce: May 11, 2022 The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating a 10-year anniversary for President & CEO, Allison McGarity. Joining the Chamber as Development Coordinator in May of 2012, she had a direct influence on the success of the Chamber's membership growth and business engagement early on. McGarity took the helm as President & CEO in October of 2014 and has served loyally and whole-heartedly ever since. "Allison has always served with such grace and humility. Dealing with constant changes and requests from members, as well as the Board, she handles everything professionally and with a great attitude," says Abbey Hawks, Chairman of the Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Allison has made quite the impact on the Simpsonville community over the last 10 years. Sippin' in Simpsonville, the Chamber's biannual event, has become a successful community staple that residents and visitors look forward to every year, in large part to Allison's ideas, planning and coordination of the large-scale event in its earlier years. The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. has also supported the local community under the direction of McGarity. Always thinking of ways to improve the Chamber's support of its members, Allison has created new programs, benefits and other resources that have bettered Simpsonville businesses. "Allison is great to work with, not just because of her tenure and experience in the community, but also because she's a really great person and empowers the people around her," says Whitney Ferguson, Director of Programming and Events at the Chamber. With a small staff of three, including herself, Allison takes many tasks, big and small, upon herself. "I am always amazed on how much she actually does behind the scenes," says Brittany Baughman, the Chamber's Communications Coordinator. "She is a leader who is always willing to roll up her sleeves and do whatever it takes." Allison's executive leadership has led the organization to high levels of engagement and success. The Simpsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has come to be such an asset to its business community, and Allison McGarity is to be applauded for her constant dedication and efforts in developing the Chamber into what it is today.
