PELHAM, NH — A Nashua man is facing felony charges after being accused of stabbing two men during a party in Pelham early Christmas morning. Police were sent to Old Country Road just after 1 a.m. Friday for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found a 27-year-old man from Litchfield unconscious due to "a deep laceration to his forehead" and "serious facial injuries" and a 28-year-old man from New Ipswich with serious knife wounds, according to Lt. Anne Perriello of the Pelham Police Department. Fire and rescue teams tended to both victims and "did an excellent job," she said before both men were taken to Massachusetts for further medical care. Police learned during the investigation that there was "a gathering" outside of the home when Joseph Schulte, 29, of Nashua, arrived. Did you like this story? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch! "Schulte began exchanging words with the 28-year-old male and it quickly escalated to a physical altercation," she said. "The 27-year-old male attempted to stop the fight and was stabbed repeatedly as a result. Schulte fled the scene prior to officers arriving." Nashua police, however, found Schulte at his home and he was arrested on two felony counts of first-degree assault. He will face a bail commissioner Friday. Perriello thanked police in Hudson, Salem, and Dracut, Massachusetts, as well as New Hampshire State Police troopers for assisting Pelham police.
