Question: How to put Chrome script back onto my car

Hello folks I have a 55 Chrysler Windsor deluxe. I have the chrome script that I want to put back onto the fenders but forgot how they were on there. There are post coming out of the back of the script but they are smooth, not screw threads of any kind. How do these stay on the car once the post are pushed into the holes. Most chrome has screw threads that you can get behind the fender and screw nuts onto post but not these. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks and take care
