Description

Desperately looking for a new home for my 1 and a half year old Sheppard-pit mix. Wallace has a lot of untapped energy and has become extremely destructive to my mental health. He is a good dog, but needs somebody with the time and patience to train him. He is up to date on shots, as well as being fixed and micro chipped. I got Wallace from a shelter in November of last year and my life has changed too much and I am unable to keep up with him and give him the attention he deserves, it has lead to him having a lot of untapped energy. He has a lot of alone time in our yard as the other dog on the property (he is in the backyard, she is in the front yard) can't keep up with his high energy, spends a lot of time running around, jumping in our pond, and playing at the fence line with the neighbor dogs. Has never showed aggression, but is very dumb and thinks discipline is play, reacted well to vibration collar, but has a habit of chewing off collars and harnesses. He knows basic commands and is very good on walks and runs with minimal corrections from a pinch collar. Very much an outside dog, he responded better to commands and attention in general once it was warm enough for him to start sleeping outside. He likes to sleep inside at night too, and is a very big cuddler if allowed on the bed. He would do very well with an experienced dog owner, or somebody with bigger dogs who can keep up with him and teach him he isn't always the big man. Does not do good with small animals because he is too hyped all of the time and will accidentally hurt things that are smaller than him thinking that they are playing. Can be relaxed around smaller dogs but with a LOT of patience. He is a herder in play and likes to nip if his playmate isn't playing how he likes/gets tired out. Easily out plays older dogs. Not food aggressive with people, only slightly food aggressive with other animals. Not sensitive to being touched, lifts feet to be dried off. He is a very good dog and would love to see him go to a home that is better suited for his needs. Please contact me if interested, tell me a bit about yourself, your living situation, and the animals you already have and we can talk from there, I look forward to hopefully finding this awesome dude a forever home.
