Question to musicians seeking bands: UPDATE

Just curious as how others think about this. I have notice many posters seeking musicians want us to send audios, videos, bios etc but the advertiser is not willing to reveal much about themselves. I find this to be fishy. What do others think? UPDATE: here is a response I got: "I'm tired of seeing this question. The only people that don't have any links to video of them playing and or singing are the rookies/beginners. If you want to see video of a band or musician, it's because you want to make sure that you don't waste your time setting up an audition for someone whom does not meet your criteria. They may totally suck as a lot of so-called musicians on Craigslist. So, to summarize, no it's not weird that they ask for links to video, but I do agree that if they are asking, then they should also provide a link. Ask them for it, and if they refuse, ask why. If you don't have video of yourself playing your instrument, then make one. Most phones have video capabilities, although a video camera would be better. Good luck!" tired of seeing this question? I never saw it before! LOL! The poster did not understand it is not the point of not having vids or audios the point was why doesn't the person seeking the vids etc share anything of their own? Not even a name of the band, location, set list nothing. SOUNDS CREEPY!! There are fake bands advertising which I think are lonely people wishing they had a band and just want to be a voyeur of other peoples vids and audios. If they want to see a vid they should reveal SOMETHING about them selves otherwise they come off as perverts. Also, I have listened to youtubes of bands and 1/2 the time you cannot really hear the different instruments well. And studio recordings are a waste. I knew this guy who had great studio recordings because he did them so many times and he had headphones where he could hear himself but live he was terrible. I think in a 15 min conversation on the phone you can learn more about a musician that any recording or vid. Enough to be confident having the person come over and see how he jells with the band.
