bass seeking to form a fun musical collaboration: Rock on!

Description

Greetings fellow musicians! As a seasoned bassist I am seeking to form a band. Two attributes most important in any musical collaboration are (in my humble opinion): chemistry among the players and musical interests. Here we go: Chemistry. Democracy reigns supreme, meaning we collaborate on a set list and build it with time. Also in time, I imagine one of us will show a natural inclination to help lead aspects such as management, rehearsals and gig attainment. We need to get along, also apparent over time. A few beers, etc.. is not out of the question, just no alcoholics or hard drugs please as those tend to take priority in one's life (unless recovering). Fun is the priority, as good music is the effect of that. Musicality. I am open to most genre's (well except country), just prefer playing music that is desired by the masses so gigs are easier to acquire. Eras can span from the 60's through today. Myself, I was raised on playing prog bass, such as Yes, Genesis, Tull, Sabbath and Deep Purple, and also blues bands like the Allman Brothers, Johnny Winter, Humble Pie, Rory Gallagher, Trower, Hendrix and others. So, yea Clapton is good, as are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Evanesence and so many more. A sampling of Indie is fine, as long as it rocks/swings. No originals please, well unless you are an amazing composer! For most modern music songs, a minimum band needed includes my bass, along with a guitar or 2 (rhythm and lead), drums and maybe keys thanks to technology. Just can't imagine load-ins with a Hammond B3/Leslie! We need vox which can be stand alone or combined with one of the other instruments, I can handle backup harmonies with practice. As the emphasis is fun, egos checked at the door please. Also, we will need a practice space, so if anyone has a basement, that would be cool. I am aware of and have used Jamspace in Wakefield which eventually is a possibility, just not into shelling out too much money for an experiment. Once we get going (and/or neighbors complain!), then we can consider that. Practices would normally be expected after work once or twice per week ('till we gell, then once/week), and hopefully weekend gigs, monthly or so. Please reply if you are interested and vax'd, including a couple of songs you like to lay, instrument, whether you can lead sing or not and if you have access to a practice space. All responses will get a reply, even if no thanks. Don't take it personally in that case, I just have sense of where the chemistry and musicality will work well. Thanks for reading this long soliciation and I look forward to making great music with you while having fun.
