This class is intended for students with some prior experience looking for ideas, structure or to improve their skills. Debbie Teeter  – WATERMEDIA: Going beyond the basics in Acrylics or Watercolor 4 sessions:  June 1, 8, 15, 22 Wednesdays – 10:00am -12:00pm Cost:  $120 non-members; $100 members Class maximum:  8 Expand your skills and your repertoire by exploring different techniques and/or compositional strategies each week.  This class is intended for students with some prior experience looking for ideas, structure or to improve their skills.   We will explore a new approach each week in class and finish it for the next session. Supply list: Pencils & erasersA supply of acrylics or watercolors & the appropriate brushesSketchbook for note-taking & to work out ideasPainting surfaces for each week. 10X10,  12X12, 11X14 are all good sizes.  Watercolor paper can be used for any medium.  Canvas or wood for acrylic only.1” chipping/utility brush (suggested vendors: Harbor Freight or Home Depot)Palette—Can be a large plastic lid OR styrofoam tray you would otherwise recycle OR freezer paper wrapped around a sheet of cardboardXacto knifeAn old toothbrushMasking tapeApronOptional: stencils, palette knives, a scraper or expired plastic gift card, small spray bottle, and any other favorite supplies you may haveAbout the Artist: I’m originally from the south side of Chicago and earned a BFA and MA in Art Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Certificate in Commercial Design from the University of California, San Diego.   I have been a licensed art educator in Illinois, California and Oregon. In addition to classes for adults and children at VGA, I have taught beginning through advanced high school art classes in the Forest Grove and Beaverton School Districts, and art instruction methods to prospective elementary educators at the University of Portland.   Member, Watercolor Society of Oregon
