The Renters Assurance Act provides guaranteed access to housing for any renters earning at least 2x the rent at no risk to landlords. The Renters Assurance Act is a proposal that re-imagines the role that financial and rental history plays in rental applications, providing more security for landlords and more access for renters. The Renters Assurance Act gives any Oregon renter who earns at least 2x the rent the ability to insure their rental agreements and overcome any (non-criminal) denial. This will help landlords find qualified applicants faster and allow renters to move past a rocky background and into homes they love. It will be equitable access to housing at its absolute best.
