Description
A space for kids to explore holistic living, Giddy by Nature camp combines art, movement and nature. Giddy by Nature camp is a space where athletes can explore other aspects of their identity, build confidence, and connect with others. While camp will center around painting, mindfulness, and nature, kids will explore personal identity, leadership skills, and core values. Giddy by Nature camp will be led by four women who played high level college athletics and are now working in education. Accepting financial aid - please email [email protected] if you would like to discuss the options. *Age group: Rising 9-11th graders *Limited to 25 spots For more information about Giddy by Nature experiences - visit www.giddybynature.com Camp will be led by: Lucinda Caldwell - Graduated from Brown University '15 where she played lacrosse and majored in English. Lucinda founded Giddy by Nature LLC, a company that combines freelance writing, art, and events to inspire holistic living and connection. Lucinda loves painting on mountain tops, plunging in cold bodies of water, and creative nonfiction writing. Hilary Bowen O'Dougherty - Hilary was a 4x National Champion at Northwestern University '09. She was on the Team USA lacrosse team in 2009 and currently coaches Team Ireland. She currently works at Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences as an Assistant Athletic Director and Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach. Hilary loves mountain tops, rivers and all of the nature in between! She also enjoys podcasts, boxing, reading, and spending time with her husband, Chris and dog, Irving. She is passionate about meditation and how it can be used as a tool to bring more equanimity, joy, and awareness to your life! Hilary is a big Buffalo Bills fan and a proud Rochester, NY native. Catherine Serpe - Graduated from Franklin & Marshall College '11 where she played lacrosse, majored in History. She also has a Masters of Teaching from Westminster College and Educational Leadership from University of Washington. She is currently Seattle Public Schools Literacy Coach at Thurgood Marshall Elementary and Rising Star Elementary (she teaches teachers how to teach children to read!). Cat enjoys mountain biking, camping, painting rocks and watching baseball games, especially when the Yankees are in town! Holly Drown - Graduated from UMass '09 where she played lacrosse and majored in Sports Management. She is currently the head coach of women's lacrosse at the University of Puget Sound; she is also a yoga instructor and owner of LAXSANITY LLC. Holly enjoys yoga, hiking, and riding around town on her electric bike.
