Description

Summer Counseling Summit Morning Session: In Their Own Words: An Examination of 357 Adolescent Relapse Experiences It is vital that counselors are able to manage adolescent relapse episodes to ensure successful recovery. The results of a research study (2020) examining 357 adolescent relapse experiences will be shared. These adolescents, who were students at a recovery high school, participated in an extensive node-link “mapping” of their relapse experience. Participants will learn to view relapse through the adolescent’s eyes and better understand the relapse process including thinking, feeling and behaviors in their own words. Participants will also learn how to utilize a functional analysis of relapse behavior to sustain recovery. This session is approved for 3 CEU's for Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Ohio CSWMFT Board. Approval # MCST06222353 Afternoon Session: Feedback-Informed Supervision-Bringing the Voice of the Client into the Supervision Session. Feedback-Informed Supervision (FIS) focuses on the client's rating of outcome and the therapeutic alliance. Research has consistently shown the value of using client feedback to guide treatment. Unlike other supervision models, FIS is a multi-theoretical approach. This workshop will demonstrate the key components and the practical applications of Feedback-Informed Supervision, helping participants differentiate between administrative and clinical supervision and apply principles of the approach to case studies. This session is approved for 3 Supervision CEU's for Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists by the Ohio CSWMFT Board. Approval # MCST06222367
