An in-person panel discussion with four local authors, moderated by Sue Brady, in support of BCHL. Please join the Boston Children's Hospital League for an in-person event at the newly opened Hummingbird Books in Chestnut Hill for a panel discussion with four authors Kerri Maher, Whitney Scharer, Weina Dai Randel and Rachel Barenbaum. Moderated by on-air personality Sue Brady. Kerri Maher is the author of three novels: The Kennedy Debutante, The Girl in White Gloves: A Novel of Grace Kelly, and the recently published The Paris Bookseller. She received her MFA from Columbia and taught writing for 8 years. She is also founder of an award-winning journal of YA literature called YARN. Kerri lives in the Boston area with her daughter. Whitney Scharer is the author of The Age of Light, based on the life of pioneering photographer Lee Miller. It was named one of the best books of 2019 by Parade, Glamour Magazine and Real Simple, among others. It also won an international award in Paris and has been published in over a dozen other countries. She teaches fiction in the Boston area and is co-founder of the Arlington Author Salon. She lives in Arlington with her family. Weina Dai Randel is an award-winning author of three novels, The Last Rose of Shanghai, The Moon Palace and The Empress of Bright Moon. She holds an MA in English from Texas Women's University and has worked as a subject-matter expert for SNHUs MFA program and an adjunct professor at Eastfield College. She currently lives with her family in Boston. Rachel Barenbaum is the author of the newly published, highly anticipated book Atomic Anna and Boston Globe Bestseller A Bend in The Stars. In the fall she will be a Scholar in residence at the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University. She is a graduate of Harvard with degrees in Business, Literature and Philosophy. She lives in the Boston area.
