The Free Black Women's Library HTX Mother-Daughter Book Club Discussion: "The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison We are excited to announce that our summer book club will feature a unique component; mothers and daughters. We are inviting mothers of high school-aged daughters, nieces, and/or cousins to participate in an invigorating discussion about Toni Morrison's debut novel, The Bluest Eye. The Bluest Eye, which was published fifty years ago, cut a new path through the American literary landscape by placing black girls at the center of the story. I can't wait to discuss with you all.
