The Brotherhood will taste some really unique whiskey with Broken Barrel Founder, Seth Benhaim The flavors imparted from contact with oak are what create the whiskeys we love and enjoy. While it is often debated, many believe that barrels are responsible for 80% of the flavor of whiskey. Seth Benhaim, the Founder and CEO of Broken Barrel Bourbon, is coming to Kentucky and we'll be doing a tasting with him. This is a special "bonus event" (in addition to our regular monthly event), and is taking place on Thursday, June 9th. The team at Broken Barrel destroys a variety of used barrels with axes, sledgehammers, and other tools, then puts the wood into Kentucky bourbon for a special finishing process. Instead of finishing their whiskey inside of barrels, these folks explore what happens when you do the exact opposite. They finish their whiskey with broken barrel staves. The actually put the wood INTO the whiskey. The results are surprising. Our event will take place at the Westport Whiskey & Wine tasting room at Westport Village. We'll have appetizers and awesome door prizes on hand, as always. You must be 21 or over to attend this event. The Bourbon Brotherhood is a monthly gathering of men who enjoy bourbon and camaraderie.
