Join us at the "Ubuntu - I am because We Are Benefit Gala" - A night of elegance, food, entertainment & people fundraising for GREAT CAUSES “Ubuntu – I am Because We Are.” The past couple of years have heavily impacted humanity due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, as a community, we have continued to be resilient, supportive, and compassionate towards each other in various ways. Those are the Ubuntu attributes so deeply embedded in us; and it’s those same attributes we hope to see once again at the upcoming African Diaspora Ubuntu Benefit Gala. Doing non-profit work is noble. However, it can also be a challenge due to limited budgets and stretched resources. The Ubuntu Benefit Gala will promote collaboration and raise funds to enable different non-profit organizations to expand much-needed programs in the diaspora communities and Africa such as; Educational scholarship and international student supportMentorship and entrepreneurship training for women and youth Seed funding for small businesses Strengthening women’s leadership capacities Medical assistance to those affected by poverty, natural disasters, and civil unrestTo explain the Ubuntu philosophy, the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu once said, “I am a person through other people. My humanity is tied to yours.” We must continue to keep our humanity connected. We look forward to partnering and sharing this special evening as we celebrate and support each other in the true spirit of Ubuntu-I Am Because We Are.
