Pride March - Sunday, June 26 NYU and NYU Langone Health will be marching together in the NYC 2022 Pride March, on Sunday, June 26!  NYU has a long history of being at the forefront of the LGBTQ civil rights movement and has been a presence at many NYC Pride marches before.  LGBTQ and ally students, faculty, staff/administrators, alumni within the NYU and NYU Langone Health community are invited to march with us! Given the size of this year's March, the organizers are limiting the amount of marchers that can join us. Therefore, please ONLY register if you are able to COMMIT to marching on Sunday, June 26.   REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JUNE 3RD AT 11:59PM. If you register to march and are no longer able to, please email us at [email protected] AND cancel your Eventbrite order.  NYU's NYC Pride March participation is organized by the following departments and offices: NYU Kimmel Events and Operations, NYU LGBTQ+ Center, NYU Langone Health, and NYU Government Affairs. Pride Reception - Thursday, June 23 from 5-7:30 pm in Schwartz Plaza (b/w Bobst and Jeffrey S. Gould Welcome Center on West 4th St.) Before the March, we will be holding the 4th Annual NYU Pride Reception, presented by NYU Campus Services. The reception will be open to marchers, as well as others in the community to celebrate PRIDE! FAQs I don't know if I can attend, but I want to register anyways. Since we are limited in how many marchers we will have this year, please register ONLY if you are able to commit to marching with us on Sunday, June 26. If you sign up, but don't march, you are taking a spot away from someone who wants to march and is available to so. When and where will we starting marching on Sunday, June 26? Exact location and time TBD. There may be up to a 2-hour wait before step-off time. Please check your email regularly leading up to the March and arrive when we tell you to come. Will the March still happen if it rains? Yes, so please come prepared for whatever weather is forecasted to be that day. I have limited mobility. Can I still march? Unfortunately, we only have the Trolley for this year's March. We will have limited seating but that will be reserved for individuals unable to march due to physical disabilities.  Will water be provided? No, but we encourage marchers to come prepared with water. New York University has moved away from purchasing plastic water bottles in an effort to be more sustainable. Where will I get my t-shirt? We will be giving out t-shirts in the Kimmel Center for University Life (NYU marchers) and at NYU Langone Health (NYU Langone Health marchers) in the week leading up to March. Please check your email for updates on exact location, dates, and times. Should I register to march just to get a t-shirt? No, t-shirts are prioritized for those participating in the March. We may have extra t-shirts after the March, so please email [email protected] if you are interested in any extra t-shirts that may be available AFTER the March. Do I have to wear the NYU Pride t-shirt during the March? No, but we encourage you to wear it in order to show your NYU Pride! Is there a waitlist for the March, and if so how to do I get on it? As we reach registration capacity, we will open up a waitlist for folks to register on in case spots open up. How will I know I am off the waitlist? As spots open up, you will receive an email from EventBrite asking you to "Claim Your Spot" to formally register for the March.  You will have 2 days to do this at which point, your spot will be opened up to the next person on the waitlist. Can I bring a guest with me?  You can only register for two tickets at a time, due to limited capacity.  I found out I can no longer attend. What should I do? If you can no longer attend, please cancel your Eventbrite ticket order, so we can open up your spot to someone on the waitlist. Email [email protected] if you have issues cancelling on Eventbrite. Can I decide to join NYU in the March on the day of the March?  It depends. We are limited to 200 marching spots, so we don't anticipate having available spots on the day of the March. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? You will need to show a digital copy of your Eventbrite ticket confirmation in order to be in the March.   Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? No. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your ticket order. What is the Fourth Annual NYU Pride Reception on Thursday, June 23? The Fourth Annual NYU Pride Reception is to celebrate Pride and kick off Pride weekend! There will be free food, music, and drag performances! Do I need a ticket to attend the Fourth Annual NYU Pride Reception? No. As long as the space isn't at capacity, you are welcome to attend and stay for as long as you'd like. Do I have to attend the Fourth Annual NYU Pride Reception in order to March? No, but we encourage you to come and have a great time!
