Session One, Tuesday - Model That: How can exploring ides through scientific modeling and artistic expression build student knowledge and understanding? Discover how integrating the arts and the NGSS Science and Engineering practice of scientific modeling can become a helpful tool for representing ideas and explanations. These research-based visible thinking methods will allow students to engage in their learning and show their understanding through personal expression. Lessons will be specific to grade level and ready for use in the classroom. (Co-hosted with Dana Adams LCOE Learning Support Specialist)
Session Two, Wednesday - Design Solutions: How can students participate in the engineering design process in a traditional classroom? Take this one-day workshop and learn how you can bring in engaging learning that will inspire students to elevate their problem-solving skills as they meet the Next Generation Science Standards engineering practices. Leave the workshop with one or more engineering challenges to do with your students.
Session Three, Thursday - Explore Robotics: Come to this entertaining and enlightening day of robot programming and building, and leave knowing which Taylor robots you want to borrow for class use.
Stipend: $100 stipend per training day after completion. Stipends are subject to employer's costs.
