Description

Join Merging Vets and Players at Chive HQ for our The Chive Cocktail Fundraiser Party! The Chive Cocktail Fundraiser Party will be hosted by former Texas Longhorn / Green Beret and Co-founder of Merging Vets and Players (MVP) Nate Boyer. This cocktail fundraising party will host 150 guests including current and former Longhorn's, professional athletes, Veteran's, and prominent business leaders from the community. Join us for an afternoon of food, drinks, and fun in the heart of Austin to benefit Merging Vets and Players. About MVP MVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them after the uniform comes off; providing them with a new team to assist with transition, promote personal development, and show them they are never alone. By merging veterans with players, these warriors can benefit from each other's strengths, experience, and abilities to unlock their full potential - and lead their families, communities, and country towards a better future. Merging Vets and Players ensures these men and women know that the challenges they are facing are far more about who they are - Warriors - than what they did in the military or on the field. In reality, that is a title that no one can ever take from you. Through weekly sessions consisting of fitness and peer-to-peer support, MVP is a community that allows members to lean on one another while navigating the labyrinth of transition, creating a new team of accountability and trust. The sessions consist of a 30 - 45 minute workout followed by The Huddle, an hour of peer-on-peer support to remind each other of their strength, even when it doesn’t seem clear. This is where members share their challenges in transition and offer each other support, resources, and connection. MVP coaches our vets and athletes to be PROUD OF THEIR SCARS and use what they experienced on the battlefield, playing field, and cage to EMPOWER them through the transition. We don’t run from mental health challenges; we tackle them as a team.
