Hosted in the Hewlett Room at the Georgetown Public Library. Seating is limited to 120 attendees and registration is required. If you have not checked in for your reserved ticket 10 minutes prior to the start of the concert, your seat will be released back into general admission.
This concert is free to the public, a gift of the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library.
Austin Dance India presents Tales of Love and Devotion
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience Sunadam Music Group, an international touring ensemble from India accompanying the dance of Austin Arts Hall of Famer, Anuradha Naimpally, and her daughter, Purna Bajekal. This solo and duet performance of Bharata Natyam classical dance of India will include an engaging demonstration, storytelling from mythology, traditional dances, exciting rhythms, unique musical instruments, and much more. Bharata Natyam is an ancient form of classical dance that reflects the cultural aesthetic of southern India through compelling stories and mesmerizing movement technique. Naimpally, founder and artistic director of Austin Dance India is a popular performer and educator and recipient of numerous awards worldwide. She will be accompanied by Purna Bajekal, a critically acclaimed dancer, and international Sunadam Music Group whom she has worked with for over a decade.
