Description

Ever wanted to learn what screenprinting is all about? Once you start you’ll be hooked! In this workshop, we’ll briefly cover the history of the craft and then move on to practicalities. We’ll discuss stencil options and the characteristics of your process that will affect your final print. Everyone will create their own paper stencils and then practice printing on paper (greeting cards!), before printing on your choice of flour sack towels or tote bags. You’ll walk away with your stencil, your practice paper prints, and your textile prints. And you’ll have the knowledge to come back any time to do more screenprinting here, using CRAFT’s screens, squeegees, and inks. In this workshop, you will - make your own stencil, - choose your ink color, - practice printing on paper (greeting cards, anyone?), - choose textile items like towels and koozies to print your design on, and - learn in an intimate setting with one on one support as needed. Reservations required. No kids. Workshops are refundable up to 72 hours in advance. 1 spot is for 1 person unless otherwise noted. Email hello [at] madeatcraft.com with questions. COVID note: We are opening 6 seats in this class, and all guests plus the teacher will be seated around a 10 foot x 5 foot table. Sometimes in an art class, you may need to get close to the teacher to see what she's doing or get guidance. To protect our teachers and guests, vaccination (unless medically exempt) and masks are required. Looking for a private event? We can schedule a private screenprinting workshop for groups from 4 to 12 people. Be in touch!
