Are mission is to improve the social and economic status of impoverished individuals through the development of housing and supportive services with a focus on " A Strong Self-image," to help women change and stay motivated on their path to self-sufficiency. With a focus on serving single women and single women household families experiencing housing displacement or homelessness. Our Annual fundraiser "A Diamond And A Mic 3" is benefit to help to support unhoused single women and single women with children. Your monetary-tax deductible donations will help to fund A Diamond in the Ruff in their efforts to not only help sustain, but scale our programs to provide more housing and supportive services in the East Bay! We are inviting Community Partners, Friends and Family to come out and enjoy an evening of Laughter, Food, Wine, Comedy, Spoken word and Alumni Testimonial. Bay Area...Comedian Headliners! Co-headliner Comedian KD Ashley - He's without a doubt one of the funniest comedians on the circuit!! Co- headliner Comedian Mark Richardson-His engaging manner and slick. Co-headliner Author and Poet Joy Elan- Award winning author and spoken word artist. Published six books in different genres (poetry, non-fiction and fiction). Co-headliner Comedian Antwan Johnson- A very knowledgeable brother with a lot of wisdom Co-headline Comedian Cookie Williams- A lady Comic who's funny, and the word is she's good at what she does. Our Annual Benefit Fundraiser this year focuses more on transitional housing for single women household families. We are desperately seeking support to help address the impactful needs of our single women household families within our community. A Diamond in the Ruff is currently working on a project for Harvest House Community our family house, with the hopes to place additional dwelling units to provide more affordable housing, and support services for families in Alameda County. Your support means so much to us all and much appreciation goes out to so many generous, and caring people who have definitely supported and believed in A Diamond in the Ruff throughout these past thirteen years!
