Make Your Own Pottery is part of the SCDNR Archaeology Summer Series. This hands-on program is free for kids who are 6 - 18 years old. The Make Your Own Pottery activity allows kids to create their own pottery they can take home. Following a short talk about the different types of pottery the SCDNR Archaeology team discovers across South Carolina, kids will be given a lump of clay to make their own coil pot. Participants can express their creativity by adding decorations to their pots. All supplies for this hands-on activity are provided. The program will take place under a tent in the garden of Parker Annex Archaeology Center. Parents and guardians must remain with minors at all times.
