Description

Press release from the City of Roseville: December 23, 2020 The year 2020 has been a one of upheaval and unrest: the death of George Floyd (and other people of color), protests against police brutality, calls for reform and basic human rights, Black Lives Matter, and COVID-19. The Roseville Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission invites students to create something that addresses one or more of the issues, express why it is important to them and tell how it has changed them. All students in middle or high school living in Roseville or attending a Roseville Area School are encouraged to participate. Students can submit an essay, poem, song or other form of written expression or a painting, drawing, collage, photograph or other form of visual arts. Sorry, no video or audio submissions will be accepted. Students can submit work as an individual or part of a group and can express themselves in the language in which they are most comfortable. Visit www.cityofroseville.com/HRIEC or contact Rebecca Olson at [email protected] or 651-792-7446 for additional information and instructions for submission. Deadline for submission is March 15. This press release was produced by the City of Roseville. The views expressed here are the author's own.
