Gregory has been playing music in the canyon since he arrived in 2004. This time he will be solo playing original music written over years.
When Gregory was 9 years old, with his group “The Invaders”, he entered and won a talent contest in Hollywood, Florida. The rest, as they say, is history.
In 1973 at the age of 16, Gregory connected with the major record label TK Productions, in Miami, Florida. There, he enjoyed recording drums and touring with internationally known TK artists Timmy Thomas (Why can’t We Live Together) and Gwen MacRae (Rocking Chair).
In 1985, Gregory formed his first group, Coconut Heads, a reggae and Caribbean band based in south Florida and lasted 25 years. Gregory was band leader, producer and arranger, song writer, and singer. In 1993, Gregory signed his first record deal with the group to Global Beat Records, based in New York City, who re-released the bands fifth recording, ‘The Roots Side’.
In 2006, Gregory moved to southern Utah and joined the local favorite band, Eric the Red.
In 2013, with two friends he formed a new group, 3hattrio, creating a new music genre, American desert music. To rave reviews, this group toured extensively in the western US and in Europe. Gregory wrote recorded, arranged, produced, and co-wrote 4 full-length albums with the band.
In 2021, Gregory, with 3hattrio, wrote and arranged music for, and appeared in their first full length documentary film, “Tomb of Joseph”.
In 2013, Gregory took on his most ambitious endeavor: his first solo album of experimental instrumental jazz, a genre close to his heart. He played all three instruments, bass, drums, and piano, wrote, produced, and mixed the recording and released the CD in 2014.
