PRINCETON, NJ — Local abortion rights activists will speak at a rally in Princeton this Saturday as part of a nationwide demonstration for abortion rights.
The rally is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Hinds Plaza (65 Witherspoon Street), according to Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey.
Marches are going on across the country, including in our nation's capital, to protest a leaked Supreme Court majority decision that would overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
According to the Action Fund, those present will include:
U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson ColemanAssemblywoman Sadaf JafferCory Neering, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New JerseyRobt Martin Seda-Schreiber, Bayard Rustin Center for Social JusticeRepresentative from Cherry Hill Women's CenterJesselley De La Cruz, Latino Action Network FoundationJesse Burns, League of Women Voters of New JerseyNicole Morella, New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic VIolenceJustina Mammeri, CNM, MS, Ocean Health InitiativesAndrea Jimenez, Our Revolution MiddlesexNadya Khan, Planned Parenthood Generation ActionWomen's March is also involved in the day of demonstrations.
"This is an unprecedented leak from the court that, if true, would reverse nearly 50 years of precedent and explicitly end federal constitutional protections for abortion," Women's March event organizers wrote. "Twenty-six states could move quickly to ban abortion, meaning millions of people might live without local access to abortion. The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions."
