PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Shots were fired near a school in Prince George's County Thursday afternoon, police have confirmed. The incident is being called a "non-contact shooting" and police say no one was injured in the incident, but children were sent running back into the District Heights elementary school. A school bus parked nearby had not been hit either. The shooting happened about one mile away from a daycare center that closed down last week due to violence in the area, reports NBC Washington.
