Here are the top stories in New Orleans today: New Orleans' wastewater collection numbers are showing a spike in potential COVID-19 infections throughout parts of the city. The French Quarter's amount has increased by 10 times while the Little Woods area has increased by 100 times. (WGNO New Orleans) NOPD is investigating after a man was shot and killed on Friday morning in the St. Claude neighborhood. The victim was declared dead at the scene after police responded to a report at the intersection of French and North Prieur Streets around 8 am. (WDSU New Orleans) NOPD and Superintendent Shawn Ferguson addressed the staffing crisis as the summer, historically a time that crime peaks in New Orleans, approaches. 'Operation Golden Eagle' is set to return this year, which staffs officers on 12 hour shifts.
