Press release from the Des Moines County Government: May 13, 2022 The Outdoor Youth Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 9:00am-2:00pm at Big Hollow Recreation Area. After a two-year hiatus the Outdoor Youth Jamboree is back for another day of free family fun. The Outdoor Youth Jamboree is a collaborative effort amongst conservation organizations from the area to get more kids outside experiencing outdoor pursuits that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to try. The annual Outdoor Youth Jamboree brings families together at Big Hollow for an opportunity to try outdoor activities. This year we'll have boat rides on the lake, canoeing on Pat's Pond, a self-guided story walk, pond study, live critters, and tours of the observatory. There will also be instructor-led shooting sports like archery, BB guns, .22 rifles, and shotguns. We'll also have a free lunch for participants. Pre-registration is not required but is highly encouraged to make checking in at the event faster and easier. This press release was produced by the Des Moines County Government.
