WEST CHESTER —A 31-year-old Coatesville man was convicted Friday in the Chester County Justice Centers domestic violence-related charges in the assaults of a woman in front of her children. Matthew Myers if being held in Chester County Prison to await sentencing on charges of simple assault, trespassing, harassment, and terroristic threats in three separate domestic violence incidents in Coatesville in 2020 and 2021. "Domestic violence is a chronic problem in many households," Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said Friday in a prepared statement. "Matthew Myers repeatedly preyed on this victim with young and vulnerable children present. In each incident, the victim courageously contacted Coatesville Police for help. Hopefully, this verdict provides a sense of safety and security for the victim and her children." According to court records: In Aug. 2020, the defendant assaulted the victim at her house in Coatesville; the victim suffered a head concussion.In Mar. 2021, the defendant violated a Protection From Abuse order by returning to the victim's house and harassing her father.In July 2021, the defendant again violated the PFA by going to the victim's house and threatened to have someone beat her up. Coatesville Police investigated. Assistant District Attorneys Dan Yarnall and Madeline Troutman prosecuted the case.
