LAS VEGAS, NV — The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas surprised its 5,400 employees this week with a thank-you worth approximately $27 million.
According to a report by The Associated Press, the resort's chief executive announced at an employee appreciation and awards buffet Wednesday that every single staff member would receive a $5,000 bonus.
"It's you, every single day, that makes a difference," Daniel Espino, the resort's chief people officer, told staff at the event, according to The AP. "Whether you clean the rooms, cook the food, are dealing cards, serving drinks, at the front desk."
The approximately 3,000-room hotel is owned by Blackstone, a New York-based private equity firm.
