SARPY COUNTY — Authorities believe the "Kool-Aid man" challenge may be to blame for a recent string of property crimes in which young people were captured on video running through fences like the iconic drink mascot, the Omaha World-Herald reported. Nine juveniles received criminal mischief citations Thursday, according to the World-Herald, which reported many of the incidents happened late Monday and early Tuesday, and that up to eight residences in western Sarpy County, near suburban Omaha, had fences broken. "These vandals are causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage," the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post. Sheriff's office officials did not respond to a request for more information. A Ring camera video posted by the World-Herald shows three people breaking through a fence and giggling while an alarm blares. Another security camera video, published by 6News, captures seven people running toward a fence and six breaking through.
