Village Of New Lenox: 'Seniors With Sole' Older Adults Summer Walking Program

NEW LENOX, IL — Attention older adults: Looking for an opportunity to get some exercise? Meet new friends? If the answer is "yes," we have something for you. The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition and its Older Adults Falls Prevention Task Group are pleased to announce that "Seniors With Sole" will be returning this summer to the New Lenox Commons. This group will be meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. from June 7 to July 28 at the stage of the performing arts pavilion. For those unfamiliar with this location, please use the New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway, as a landmark. Registration is free and will be done on-site June 7 and June 9. A typical morning will consist of about 10 minutes of light stretching followed by walking around the beautiful New Lenox Commons. Participants will walk at their own pace and are encouraged to set their own goals (laps, distance, time). Please remember to wear good walking shoes and bring some water to stay hydrated. All levels of fitness are welcome. And now for the added bonus: For each session attended, participant's names will be entered to win some great raffle prizes. The raffle will be held during the last session (July 28). Winners must be present to collect their prize.
