Description
FREMONT, CA — Tong and Huanran Mao captured an up-close photo of a hawk while strolling Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area in Fremont Wednesday afternoon.
"I believe the hawk is a red-tailed hawk, most likely scouting the area to hunt ground squirrels," Huanran said.
Ornithologists are welcomed to weigh in on the species specifics. Let us know in the comments section.
Thanks for sending, Maos!
