WEST VILLAGE, NY — A street corner fight turned fatal Friday morning when a man was stabbed in the chest in Greenwich Village, police told Patch. Samer Abdalla, 28, was killed after arguing with four people on Sixth Avenue and West Fourth Street about 1:30 a.m., police said. Medics rushed Abdalla, of Brooklyn, to Bellevue Hosptial where he later died, the NYPD said. All four suspects fled the area, no arrests have been made and no weapons found at the scene, police said. The NYPD is classifying the stabbing as a homicide, which is not a common occurrence in the Greenwich Village and West Village area. The NYPD's 6th Precinct had zero homicides in 2021, ABC7 first reported. "It's absolutely scary what's going on," one man told ABC7. "Someone got stabbed, and if it doesn't change now.... Mayor Adams has to do something. Because if he doesn't, it's going to continue running rampant in this city."
