CARTERSVILLE, GA — All Cartersville Urgent Care locations will soon become Piedmont Urgent Care, thanks to the acquisition of their management company by Piedmont Healthcare. The clinics — located at 10 Main St. and 11 Charley Harper Dr. — will continue to operate with the same staff, according to an announcement Wednesday by Piedmont. In addition to the Cartersville locations, Redmond Urgent Care in Rome will become Piedmont locations. Other urgent-care locations to be newly managed by Piedmont with this purchase are in Grayson, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Lithonia, Loganville and Snellville. Piedmont Urgent Care clinics treat common cold symptoms, seasonal allergies, summer camp physicals, minor fractures and more. In addition to walk-in care for minor injuries and illnesses, Piedmont Urgent Care clinics offer COVID-19 testing, non-COVID-19 vaccinations, physicals, workers' compensation treatment and employer services. They accept most major insurance plans. Piedmont bought Cartersville Medical Center in 2021. In the Leapfrog Group's most recent grades for hospital safety, Piedmont Cartersville earned a "B" for its performance during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
