Description
The following two musical ensembles are presently in need of a good piano player. It is preferred, but not necessary, that the same person play for both ensembles.
Our Bluebird Orchestra plays stock arrangements of those delightful popular tunes from the 1920s and early '30s, such as Baby Face, Sleepy Time Gal, and Little White Lies. The piano parts in these arrangements are not technically difficult, but they do require a sensitive musician who plays well with an ensemble. Although we Bluebirds play occasional gigs, we meet only once a month, on the last Monday evening, mostly just to have fun playing these great old tunes. Hence this wouldn't involve a huge time commitment. And we Bluebirds are no slouches, as half of us hold college music degrees.
Our other ensemble, The Lovebirds Quintet of Lancaster, is made up of a great male vocalist, an alto sax/clarinet player, a trumpeter, a sousaphone player, and piano. We perform those incomparable love songs from the same era - Embraceable You, The Way You Look Tonight, It Had to be You. We practice once a month or so at a time that suits everyone. This group has the potential to perform at weddings, anniversaries, and other suitable events. One hour performances with us Lovebirds generally puts $50 in our pockets.
If you, or if you know a piano player who might be an asset to one or both of these ensembles, please get in touch.
