ELMHURST, IL — This week, Elmhurst police responded to cases involving a peeping tom, a pizza prank, a tire theft, retail theft and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police blotter: Peeping Tom A resident in the 100 block of Fellows Court was in her bathroom of her apartment when she heard someone speak. When she turned, she saw someone peering through her window. The incident happened about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area, but could not find a suspect. Pizza prank Rosati's Pizza, 687 N. York St., told police that a suspect ordered a dozen pizzas to be delivered to a house in Elmhurst. When the delivery person arrived at the house, the suspect would not answer his phone. The suspect texted the employee and said the pizza order was a prank. Tire theft Someone cut the fencing to a storage yard between Saturday and Monday at JX Truck Center, 216 W. Diversey Ave. Five tires were stolen from two vehicles parked in the lot. Retail theft Jonathan Martinez, 20, of Lombard, was cited about 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kohl's, 303 Route 83, on a charge of retail theft. He was released on bond. Rolando Anton Granados, 21, and Maryte Torres, 24, both of Chicago, were arrested about 4 p.m. Wednesday at Kohl's, 303 Route 83, on charges of retail theft and burglary. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, three people were seen leaving the store with handfuls of clothing without paying for the items. Besides Granados and Torres, two juveniles were charged in the crime. They were released to their parents. A woman and a man stole three bottles of Crown Royal liquor and cosmetic products about 11:30 p.m. Monday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. The suspects entered a minivan, possibly a Chrysler, and left in an unknown direction. The woman was described as white, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches, having a slim build, brown hair and blue eyes, and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with a white print logo, gray sweatpants and white gym shoes. The man was described as black, 35 to 40, having a heavy build and facial acne, and wearing a blue face covering, black skull cap, black winter jacket and dark jeans. A man left Jewel-Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday without paying for eye drops. The suspect was described as white, in his 30s, and wearing a black jacket, a black and yellow beanie hat and blue jeans. He left in a blue Honda sedan with tinted windows and a large muffler. An investigation is pending. DUI Daniel Long, 19, of St. Louis, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at North and Glade on charges of DUI (drugs), possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond.Joseph Morici, 32, of La Grange, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Thursday at 650 W. Grand on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, speeding and disobeying a traffic control device. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Francisco Sanchez, 29, of Lombard, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at North and Willow on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, no headlights, violation of a driver's license restriction and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. He was released on bond. Driving violations Nestor Rosario, 30, of Burbank, was cited about 10:30 a.m. Monday at North and Ferndale on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt. The suspect was released on bond. Joshua J. King, 22, of Villa Park, was cited about 8 p.m. Monday at Roosevelt and York on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to report an accident to police. He was released on bond. Andreas Karayanis, 75, of Carlisle, Pa., was cited about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fullerton and York on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond. John P. Woodard, 30, of Chicago, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at York and Lake on charges of obstructing identification, possession of marijuana by a driver, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lighting and operating an electronic device while driving. He was released on bond.Megan S. Moeller, 21, of Arlington Heights, was cited about 10 p.m. Tuesday at Route 83 and Riverside on charges of possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and improper lighting. She was released on bond. Andrea Mendoza, 19, of Villa Park, was cited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at North and Berteau on charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. She was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
