Emerald Art Gallery is seeking an art show assistant to join our talented art team. The assistant is responsible for helping set up and break down booths every weekend. They will also keep the artist company throughout the day. As part of their responsibilities, assistants work as booth sitter to allow the artist to take bathroom breaks throughout the event. As the day goes on the assistant will bring them drinks and food from nearby restaurants. This part-time position is available from May to October. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including the following duties while other responsibilities may be assigned Set up and break down two art booths Assist Artists between Friday - Sunday Must have the availability and willingness to work very early mornings to set up Responsible for ensuring that the booth looks tidy, clean, and presentable at all times Will support artist by bagging up artwork sold to customers Assisting clients by walking paintings to their car Bringing food/beverage to artist or sales representative Will need to get paintings from storage to restock booth throughout the day Must comply with all company policies and procedures. To perform the essential functions of this position, regular and consistent attendance is required. Must be able to work well with other team members, artists, and interact with our guests/clients. LANGUAGE SKILLS Spanish and English speakers (encouraged) PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to carry large paintings with frames. Must help artists load and unload trucks. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. WORK ENVIRONMENT Outdoors Booth setup times vary, but the most common take place on Fridays in the afternoon or evening Occasionally, depending on the art show organizers, early morning hours are required with set up times that take place at 4 am. 5 pm - 6 pm booth break down DRIVERS LICENSE Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Truck or large vehicle driving experience (required) Assistant must be willing to drive to any of the following states: Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
