House Republicans probe DOJ for info on reluctance to enforce federal law amid protests at justices' homes
A federal law makes it illegal to attempt to 'influence' federal officials and the outcome of a court case.
House Oversight Committee Republicans are probing the Department of Justice for information regarding how the agency plans to enforce federal laws protecting judges, after a leaked draft opinion signaling the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade sparked large pro-choice protests.
Garland was initially silent on continued protests by activists outside conservative Supreme Court justices' homes over the last week, despite a federal law that makes it illegal to attempt to "influence" federal officials and the outcome of a court case, but DOJ addressed the protests in a statement Wednesday.
Federal U.S. code 1507, states that any individual who "pickets or parades" with the "intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer" near a U.S. court or "near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer" will be fined, or "imprisoned not more than one year, or both."
We never get EQUAL justice, rather they WEAPONIZE government against the opposition.
