Mich Ave BHHS Chicago Donates $4500 to GCFD $500 to Casa Catalina

The Michigan Avenue office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm’s philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, have announced that they will donate $4,500 to The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) and $500 to Casa Catalina this month. The money is part of a $40,000 donation pool to local food pantries this year in place of the company’s annual holiday party. The Michigan Avenue office chose to support these organizations because they act as a hub for a network of more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs that provide food where it’s needed most. Casa Catalina is part of Catholic Charities and the Greater Chicago Food Pantry. Alan Zuber, managing broker of the Michigan Avenue office along with David Bracy, said, “We are really pleased to make this donation to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Casa Catalina. Every year at this time, we gather together as a company to celebrate the holidays and bask in the accomplishments of the year. But, this year is so dramatically different in every way. With need so great, it just made sense to re-evaluate how those party dollars were spent and do something to help people keep food on their tables.” The Michigan Avenue office is one of the company’s nineteen participating offices throughout Chicagoland, as well as in Indiana and Michigan.
