The Bucktown office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm’s philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, have announced that they will donate to The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). The money is part of a $40,000 donation pool to be distributed to local food pantries this year. The Bucktown office chose to support GCFD because it acts as a hub for a network of more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs that provide food where it’s needed most. Michael Mazzei, senior vice president and regional managing broker of the Bucktown office said, “We selected The Greater Chicago Food Depository as the recipient of the Bucktown office’s pantry donation.. This year, with need being so great, we really wanted to make an impact at the local level to support our neighbors. The GCFD has an outstanding reputation for helping those in the greatest need and it’s our pleasure to help them in their mission.” The Bucktown office is one of the company’s 19 participating offices throughout Chicagoland, as well as in Indiana and Michigan.
