Antique restoration looking for an assistant, full time and long term. We specialize in high end work and finishes. Unique opportunity to learn a highly skilled trade as we work only to the trade (high end designers and contractors) Work involves on-site projects and in the studio as well. Work may be physical in preparation of surfaces, wood, metal etc but mostly detail oriented. We will train so you personal qualities are most important: Dependability, teamwork,sense of responsibility, willing to learn, extremely neat and attention to details required. This is not construction work. Experience with wood and finishes welcome but not necessary as we work with very specific hand applied techniques( hand lacquer,straw marquetry, French polish etc) that we will teach. We also retail and craft all natural furniture refinishing products and you should be able to fit in this part of the operations as well as the organization of the studio.
